Hi All, Matt and Jackie here! Here are some more pics from our trip:
Matt and Jackie enjoying waves from the bowOur first group photo from the middle of the Atlantic!! ๐Teamwork in the galley! Thanks to all the crew for helping to prepare meals and clean dishes!Bill eating banana pancakes for breakfastWe ate homemade cookies for dessert last night during Cam’s TED talkThe infamous fruit hammock! Wreaked havoc for the poor crew members sleeping in the bow the first few days of the trip. Believe it or not, most of the hammock and an additional 30 or so bananas hanging in the salon have already been eaten in less than a week! Either the crew decided to conquer the flying fruit by eating it as fast as they could, or they really like their fruits and veggies!
To all of you who are wondering about life in the galley, it is a rodeo! Cooking at sea is a mix between juggling, self-defense, and yoga. We are now on port tack which makes doing dishes a breeze, but with aย heel, I can’t quite open up the fridge or any of the port side food cabinets without their contents trying to fly out across the galley. It has been really fun to make homemade sandwich bread at sea. The gimbaled stove is my favorite tool in the kitchen.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, we love you!
Wow great pictures and great memories! I love the picture of Jackie and Matt on the bow with the selfie stick! Also nice to see a picture of you all together ๐ Especially like the analogy that cooking is a mix between juggling, self-defense and yoga. Uncle Martin would be proud….great to see the fruit hammock is not still the swinging menace it was……between the isometrics and the natural fresh food the crew is destine to come back fit and trim! Continued safe travels!
Amongst my favorite photo yet is this beautiful shot of the the full Moondance crew/family! … continued thoughts, prayers and love going all of your way! Xo
~ which is to say, they’re All great shots! Matt & Jackie, the bow selfie is super fun & deserves framing! Bill, lookin’ good and relaxed as usual ๐
Galley teamwork ~ always a good thing. The cookies, they’re gone. Just ate them w/my eyes ๐
Thanks again for all of the lovely pics shared! Continued safe travels! Xo
Btw not sure what “news” ur getting out there but this could spur a good debate and conversation on board… Donald Trump announced yesterday he’s running for president (Republican Party) he says he’s worth 9 billion dollars – so far he hasn’t taken any positions that I know of but I think this brings like 20 republicans to the field now! In my opinion Hillary definitely got a face lift ! and no offense but Bill looks so old now- this should be an interesting year ๐
Thanks for providing the conversation fodder! The crew of Moondance is unanimous, as ratified over our morning oatmeal, that we look forward to the late-night comedy shows making fun of The Donald. We are disappointed by the circus.
Love that you are sharing this journey with us! I am so incredibly in awe of this trip. Lots of love to you Cam and the rest of the crew! Thanks for sharing your photos and stories along the way ๐
Matt and Jackie — that picture is EPIC of you two! And as a mom, I have to say it pleases and comforts me to see you both clipped on to harnesses out there โค
Great Photos. Looks like a Happy crew. The last picture reminds me of a few College apartments at BU I have seen. who’s room that could be? a Few potential guilty parties on that crew. Stay safe, embrace the journey.
Hi there!!!
Becky sent me the link to y’all’s blog and I have really enjoyed reading your entries this morning! From my perspective, y’all are living this blessed life to the fullest and I admire your courage, teamwork and spirit! Keep those pictures coming so we can “armchair travel” with you! Love and prayers for continued safe travels!
Thanks so much for sharing!
